The defending champions of the German Sailing League, the German Touring Yacht Club from Tutzing, travelled to the host Norddeutscher Regatta Verein on the Alster after a strong series with an eleven-point lead over the Seglerhaus am Wannsee club. Actually unassailable. And then everything turned out quite differently. It was a nail-biter.
